YouTube Quick Product Reviews

I've been putting a lot of thought into what would be really useful videos to put on my YouTube channel. I try to avoid doing celebrity looks etc as that's not what I'm trained in and there are so many fabulous artists that you can watch doing a much better job of it than me but one thing I do get asked about a lot is what cleanser/mascara/foundation/moisturiser to use or what a certain product is like.

Now I am trained in make-up not skincare but you do pick a lot up along the way and I am also a HUGE consumer of make-up and beauty products so I've decided to do really quick reviews on my channel of products that I'm trying out or using so you can see them working, hear my opinion and get all the facts to help you make a decision about whether you want to try something for yourself.

So if there's something you'd like to see in action or would like me to review please drop me an email to contact at corinnaharrod dot com and click on the Quick Review tag in the tag cloud to see the videos via this blog xx

Adaptasun Tanning Body Lotion

I'm trying to teach myself about skincare and what ingredients do what, what our skin needs and what it really doesn't and as you can imagine, this is a huge field and therefore a slow process. One whole massive, huge aspect of it is sun protection. It is such a confusing and in-depth subject that I tend to avoid it all together and wear as high a factor as possible on my face (for vanity's sake, sun = wrinkles) and then slap on whatever I can when I remember the rest of the time with a low level terror of skin cancer constantly niggling away at me.

Institut Esthederm Adaptasun MediumFor the past couple of years I have been a devotee of Protect and Bronze and will resolutely buy this in factor 20 and 10 for every summer holiday and then use it til it's empty whenever that may be. This is not very safe - SPF does deteriorate over time so you should buy just enough for your needs and chuck it out when the summer/holiday is over. You should apply sun lotion at least every two hours if not more even if it says you just need to apply it once. But if you are like me and have only two levels of skin, pasty and burnt, then it's particularly difficult to get a tan if you are basting yourself in a high factor every couple of hours. Yes you are protected from skin cancer and that is the most important thing. But I would be lying if I said I didn't want to get a bit of a tan, I do, I'm practically see-through by the end of winter.

Friday Video - Amped Up Pink Bridal

I bought some Maybelline 24hr Tattoo Eye Cream in Pink Gold for a bridal client I have so I've used it here to create a bridal look with a slightly more dramatic liner. Pink is a great colour for all eye colours but especially green and blue eyes. Use with Teddy liner by MAC if you'd rather have a softer liner.

I would love it if you would check out and subscribe to my YouTube channel.

 Products Used:

Embroylisse Lait Cream Concentrate
MAC Face and Body Foundation in N2
Maybelline 24hr Tattoo Cream Eye Colour in Pink Gold
L'Oreal Colour Appeal in Golden Rose
Sleek Makeup Contour Kit in Light
Inglot Gel Liner in 77 Black
Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara in Black
Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel
Ben Nye Blush Palette
MAC Lip Liner in Barely Bare

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Dual Action Cleansing Cloths

As regular readers of this blog will know I am in love with the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm and just when I thought things couldn't get any better I was sent one of the Dual Action Cleansing Cloths to try with it. I've always found muslins a bit too rough on my face so I've stuck to using an old reliable flannel but the microfibre side of the Emma Hardie cloth is perfect for removing your cleanser, gets everything off without removing the top layer of skin - they are super-soft.

I was bereft when someone (that's you JOE HARROD) threw away my cleansing cloth when we moved and so  I ordered one up from Space NK. It was £10 which I was happy to pay (even though it took an actual month to arrive and I would have done better just ordering it online) in fact, I ordered two so I could have one for my kit. But when it appeared it was actually a box of three - £10 for three cloths. That's £3.33 each which is a total and absolute bargain and I defy you to go out right now and get a box for yourself.
